WHO ARE WE

He might be crazy, but Singer isn’t just another yahoo with a kooky idea. Once a member of The North Face climbing team, and a veteran of a dozen arctic expeditions, his first time rappelling in to ski was the Cosmique couloir on three- pin tele boards. He can ski, he just got bored of it a long time ago and settled into sledding for other reasons: injuries, solitude, night-compatibility, whole-body motion, dog friendly, and no one else was going it in an adventurous fashion in America.

Visiting friends in Italian Tirol, Singer was introduced to the rodel by the family who owns Leitner, builders of half the world’s ski lifts. A life-long sledding fanatic, he was astonished by having never seen one and has been working to introduce rodeling in the US and advance the sport in general.

Crysta, on the other hand, is in fact some yahoo who would, and does, follow Singer’s kooky ideas anywhere around the world. She’s a dreadful skier - a hazard to everyone on the mountain - but a less-bad rodeler. She can’t get down from the top of the resort on skis in any safe way, but can confidently descend the same slopes on a rodel.- in perfect control, noodling through the other riders.
